Victims of their own success?

These are some observations of mine regarding the R34 GT-R but in reality these apply to the R32 and R33 models as well. To be honest they also apply to a lot of the hero cars from the 90s/00s JDM era – think Supras, RX7s, etc. What brought this up was a quick look at carsales.com.au – there were no 34 GT-Rs for sale across Australia on the site, something I have never seen before… So why is that?

33 & 34 Happenings… Pt. 3

“Small things make perfection, but perfection is no small thing…” Henry Royce of Rolls-Royce cars. That is really the theme for me at the moment with how I am approaching modifying the Skylines, getting the base and smaller details up to as higher standard as possible. What I personally love about Rolls-Royce cars, as well as other high end manufacturers such as Pagani and Singer (can you imagine a Singer style R34 GT-R?!), is how no detail is left untouched. Now I can hear you say ‘but the bolts on a Pagani alone cost over $100,000 – I don’t have that kind of money…’ and don’t worry neither do I! However, as my mate pointed out to me “the amount of money you have has nothing to do with attitude” i.e. you can take that mentality and apply it to whatever you do, even if you can’t afford a Rolls! With that in mind let’s delve into the latest happenings…

Omori Factory

If you are reading this it is likely you are a Nissan enthusiast or at least a JDM car lover, if not maybe you just appreciate quality cars either that or you’re my mum haha! Seriously though if Nissan is your religion then Omori Factory is your Mecca. For Nissan fans across the globe it is arguably the most important destination for the cars of the past 30 years or so. I was fortunate enough to tick this off the bucket list on a nice Autumn day in Septmeber 2019. Here is my visit to automotive nirvana…

33 & 34 Happenings… Pt. 1

First blog post of 2020 and my first technical (but not thatttt technical) post! I always thought the blog would be a good way of tracking any work on the car but I never thought I had done anything that exciting (or anyone else would find interesting at least). However, recently there have been a few things I thought I would share, so read on!

Event – Rs Meeting Japan 2019 – Lo-Fi

Rs Meeting is an event held every year in Japan by GTR Magazine, this was the 12th event and coincided with 50 years of the GTR badge (along with 30 for the BNR32 and 20 for the BNR34). So it was quite a momentous anniversary, I was fortunate enough to attend…

This article has the title ‘Lo-Fi’ because all these images were taken on a disposable camera & there has been no editing to them except adding a watermark (even though some of them there probably should have been edited haha!).

Event – GTR Festival Sydney – Pt. 1

My alarm was set for 4.30am but it didn’t matter I was awake at 3.45am anyway. It was time to get a red eye to Sydney for the Motive DVD GTR Festival. Our destination was Eastern Creek Raceway, with some 300 or so GTRs in attendance along with a range of cars my travel buddy 2PJZ and I were excited to say the least!
