I touched on the overall feel of the event in my first post which you can find here. For this second post I am going to share some images and any random thoughts I have!

One thing that stood out almost immediately was how New South Wales car seemed to love big single turbos and in many cases, increased displacement. Another stand out I noticed was the love for all of the R series skylines (R32-R35), with all the models being well represented – not to mention plenty of other skyline variations & Nissans in general! There was a ‘Nismo’ Festival incorporated within GTR Festival so that made sense, for now I will let the pics do the talking:

Big single and a 2.8, a popular choice in NSW!
32s continue to be popular as always & for many are the ‘original’ GTR.
I love Deep Marine Blue (BN6), it is one of the rare colours for a 33 with only about 3% of all GTRs coming from the factory in this shade according to GTR-Registry.com
When the barriers match the cars…
For me S1 engines are something I have always taken a liking to, the power isn’t mind blowing but as a complete package they are great for a street car.
The ‘mushroom’ filters also scream JDM to me – not my first choice but one that suits the car/engine/era!
A tip of the hat to the infamous ‘Nurburgring’ – I wonder if Nissan will offer an R35 Nur?
One of my favourite cars from the day and one I have seen countless times online – a real treat to see it in person!
Some people can say their car is like the one in the catalgue, some can say their one is the one in the catalogue!
Stunning from any angle!
Cars were heading between the drag strip and the pit area all day
I saw this in the pit area and thought it was great!
I have always respected people who use their cars, even if this isn’t what I quite had in mind!
This car almost looked black at some stages tucked in between the other cars. It appears to be a midnight purple II car – rare indeed! Regardless it was a stunner.
Bayside Blue, Ganadors, white wheels and big Endless brakes – just some of the classic JDM flavour here!
It was a pleasure to get up close with the Mines N1 car, the engine bay I have seen in so many magazines and videos looked as purposeful as ever!
Another car that looks good from any angle!
There were plenty of traders set up at the festival but I hardly got a chance to look at them – I made sure to check out the cars they all had on display though! I have seen this sinister black 34 on Instagram before, chatting with the owner it was obvious he isn’t afraid to drive it! Unfortunately he was mentioning the car got dirty from the mornings activities – no worries as far as I was concerned, still looked great and an indication it does get driven!
Some cars weren’t with traders but were just on display – again fine with me!
Terry’s fabulous N1.
Talking about 33s, Midnight Purple is one of may favourite colours for them. The MNP on 33s is probably my favourite variation as well (just in case you were wondering haha)
Just like the 33 above Nismo LMs seem to help any variation of GTR!
More Omori engine goodness.
With 2019 being the 50th Anniversary of the GTR (& not to mention the 30th of the R32 and 20th of the R34) there are plenty of events happening across Australia and the world.
ON2U
“Cocaine white, drug dealer chic…”
Talking of white, Terry’s R34 N1 – of course the N1s were only available in white, the Japanese racing colour!
34 or 35?
I have to post some more pics of the legendary Z Tune! The silver really suits the lines of the 34.
There was another Mines GTR in attendance as well – this one was Millennium Jade.
In good company!
Talking about being in good company, Bobby who owns the silver Z Tune also had his ‘street’ GTR in attendance, built similar in many ways to the Z tune.
I will let you do the Google Translate…
Take note of the number plates… haha
Two of the best!
Simply amazing!
Chunky tyres and a big engine build leave no questions about this cars intentions.
This R35 matches a bit of the home grown machinery on the right! Quite a nice colour, definitely one of the more in your face choices.
More S1 engine hunting!
I have probably been biased to the R34 without even noticing but BNR34s have always been my favorite, admittedly I do love all GTRs!
The purple was really popping in the harsh Aussie sun.
Old school.
New school – there was a newly released 50th Anniversary model present (in distinctive ‘Bayside Blue’ ) but I am not even sure if I managed a pic of it!

As I mentioned there was also a ‘Nismo’ part of the festival allowing non GTRs to participate/enter, we walked around those cars and many were as impressive as the GTRs.

As we headed out of the venue we did some car park spotting! It turned up a few pleasant surprises…

The only non Nissan in the whole article! This Subaru was different but great to see all sides of car modification.
We spotted the Lightening Yellow V-Spec in the car park wearing period correct Volk Gt-V wheels, a well used car it was cool to see!

That wraps up my coverage of GTR Festival 2019 thus far, I have lots of images so I may do a gallery at some stage, if not I will post them across the socials no doubt.

Ps I plan to keep sharing content on my Instagram @kurosorablog (& Facebook)if you are on there I would appreciate a follow! Thanks.
