Rs Meeting 2020… Kind of!

2020 Has been something else, among everything else going on I want to take a break for 5 minutes and focus on Rs Meeting. Another event that had to radically change for 2020, it was essentially a closed event with no spectators and only 400 cars being eligible for the traditional photo shoot. Obviously travelling to Japan was out of the question for me as well. So with that in mind let’s go on a virtual trip to Fuji Speedway…

Super Autobacs

Another must do JDM experience for me in Japan was to hit up the famed ‘Super Autobacs’ – an automotive store of a different kind! In case you were wondering AUTOBACS stands for: Appeal, Unique, Tire, Oil, Battery, Accessory, Car electronics, Service! Technically the ‘Super’ part is no longer part of the name for the store we visited either but that’s semantics, let’s get into the good stuff!

Omori Factory

If you are reading this it is likely you are a Nissan enthusiast or at least a JDM car lover, if not maybe you just appreciate quality cars either that or you’re my mum haha! Seriously though if Nissan is your religion then Omori Factory is your Mecca. For Nissan fans across the globe it is arguably the most important destination for the cars of the past 30 years or so. I was fortunate enough to tick this off the bucket list on a nice Autumn day in Septmeber 2019. Here is my visit to automotive nirvana…

Nissan Crossing

The first ‘car’ specific place we hit up in Japan was Nissan Crossing, it is located in Ginza, a swanky area of Tokyo with loads of high end department stores and retail outlets. It is not a dealership as such, you can’t buy cars here but it is more of a educational tool, it lets Nissan show off some some new concept cars, as well as current production vehicles.
