Another must do JDM experience for me in Japan was to hit up the famed ‘Super Autobacs’ – an automotive store of a different kind! In case you were wondering AUTOBACS stands for: Appeal, Unique, Tire, Oil, Battery, Accessory, Car electronics, Service! Technically the ‘Super’ part is no longer part of the name for the store we visited either but that’s semantics, let’s get into the good stuff!

“Small things make perfection, but perfection is no small thing…” Henry Royce of Rolls-Royce cars. That is really the theme for me at the moment with how I am approaching modifying the Skylines, getting the base and smaller details up to as higher standard as possible. What I personally love about Rolls-Royce cars, as well as other high end manufacturers such as Pagani and Singer (can you imagine a Singer style R34 GT-R?!), is how no detail is left untouched. Now I can hear you say ‘but the bolts on a Pagani alone cost over $100,000 – I don’t have that kind of money…’ and don’t worry neither do I! However, as my mate pointed out to me “the amount of money you have has nothing to do with attitude” i.e. you can take that mentality and apply it to whatever you do, even if you can’t afford a Rolls! With that in mind let’s delve into the latest happenings…

With the current state of affairs, driving is generally on the back burner but I thought it would be a good time to talk about my ‘proper’ driving experience in Japan – the legendary Hakone!

I’ve been meaning to write this piece for a little while but with current situation we are in, I figure more people have time to read so I can’t think of a better time! These are some of the blogs I read and they inspire me, hopefully you can discover some new content.

Tatsumi Parking Area (or Tatsumi PA for short) was one of the most unexpected but incredible car experiences in Japan I had. Join me as we visit not once but twice!

If you are reading this it is likely you are a Nissan enthusiast or at least a JDM car lover, if not maybe you just appreciate quality cars either that or you’re my mum haha! Seriously though if Nissan is your religion then Omori Factory is your Mecca. For Nissan fans across the globe it is arguably the most important destination for the cars of the past 30 years or so. I was fortunate enough to tick this off the bucket list on a nice Autumn day in Septmeber 2019. Here is my visit to automotive nirvana…

There are some events, people and brands that transcend the various sub genres of the modified car scene and it is fair to say Rauh Welt Begriff (RWB) is one of those. Personally, whether it’s your number one style or not is a bit irrelevant as you can appreciate, the dedication, work and passion. Hearing that Mr RWB himself, Akira Nakai, would be here in South Australia to create the first RWB build of 2020, I knew I would have to witness it myself. With that in mind I took the hour or so drive from Adelaide to the Bend Motorsports’ Park.

No doubt about it, All Japan Day (AJD) is Adelaide’s premier JDM event, held every year for as long as I can remember, it is always a great day and this year was no different. You might remember last year I entered and covered the day with a disposable camera (if you don’t recall you can check it out here) but unfortunately this year I wasn’t entered. In fact, for various reasons I only got 45 minutes to rip around AJD so here it is:

As I alluded to in part 1 (here) I have been busy with some changes on the R34. Nothing drastic, I want to get the ‘base’ car level up to a high standard, what’s the point of having a shiny new turbo if you can’t turn a corner for example!

As I have mentioned in previous posts, it has been a horror season of bushfires across the country and here in South Australia. With that in mind @porschespottingadelaide along with @fuddsburgers and other generous sponsors, got together to hold a fundraising event. I headed along with a few mates, here is how the day went down:
