Cars and Coffee Blackwood returned in these strange times to a rapturous applause – well in a car kind of way! The weather was as good as one could expect for July… but that didn’t dampen the enthusiasm.
As I write this I am seeing plenty of positive commentary about the morning – the atmosphere, the cars on show, the catch ups with mates and I agree with all of this! I can’t add too much more commentary so I will share some highlights from the day – of course the JDM cars always catch my eye but I promise I took pics of others as well…
This car immediately caught my attention – based(?!) on the legendary 400R – a limited run of R33 GT-Rs which were fettled by Nismo and only 44 left the factory. Initially slated for 100 models the impending arrival of the R34 dampened the enthusiasm. Regardless of authenticity this car sees a lot of action as the scrutineering stickers for the Targa Tasmania event prove.
If anyone has any further information on this car I am all ears!
I was parked up next to this beast – @agness__adventure !
Gotta make sure your car is sparkling clean…
Unfortunately not everyone made it to the event… nice looking S13 though and with Japanese vibes.
It was busy the whole time I was there – with people coming and going constantly. This NSX ended up parking next to me which was nice – you don’t realise how low they are until you have some context, the GT-R isn’t a 4wd (like what was initially parked next to me) but it may as well have been with this Honda next to me!
Some nice exotica not scared of the wet…
This little Fiesta could easily double as a daily and a weekend track car, look at the brake upgrade!
Another car that could fit into that category… some home grown muscle!
Not sure about muscle… but fun none the less!
You may have noticed this Porsche GT3 in the background of the last pic…
It is a very rare ‘Speed Yellow’ one of only 5 997 GT3s delivered in that colour here in Australia (2 generation 1 cars and 3 generation 2).
I am all for yellow cars, speaking of which! This new A45 looked good – not sure what the number plates reference though…
Lets keep the yellow theme going, this little Honda was pint sized but looked really good. I can’t offer a lot more information that that!
I can offer you this interior pic though, the wood grained steering wheels suiting the theme perfectly.
Speaking of older cars this classic Mazda appeared to be in the same unrestored condition it has been for some years.
Moving back into the modern era and this Subaru has been getting a bit of local social media attention recently. Easy to see why, the TEs are a recent addition, presumably the car is on air but these days that is not always true!
This golf certainly is bagged!
I am not sure of the suspension set up on this Evo but the rear camber is certainly more extreme than standard.
There were a few BNR34s out in the weather, this was the most modified of them and is currently for sale if you have close to a quarter of a million dollars to spare.
A classic Onevia in the back car park.
Something Italian, this little Alfa was one of not many on display if any others were present at all?!
This was definitely the only Ford Cosworth in attendance – thoughts on the orange wheels?
@2pjz_ with his Tommi Makinen Evo, next to one of his many dream cars – a Bayside Blue 34 GT-R!
Another TME/GT-R combo!
Some V10 American Muscle – it is/was the 4th of July in the states as this event was underway!
GT-T are an undervalued car, living in the shadow of the GT-R. That said, the value of them is definitely on the rise, maybe the appetite of the Americans is influencing the pricing here now as well?
Another stand out Porsche, this one orange not yellow but I can’t tell you the production numbers!
But again I can offer this interior shot as compensation!
I am going to finish up with this Porsche…
A recently completed project the owner has some very nice cars and the back story to this one sounds just as interesting! @adscanell for further info and thank me later.
I am going to wrap up what was another good morning here, as always the cars were good but that is only a piece of the puzzle – without their owners the story is incomplete!
